Do you need a Vitamix? I know “need” is a strong word. We don’t need much in life. Food, shelter, love. And, yes, a Vitamix, which I hope to prove to you in this Vitamix Pro 750 review.
(Oh, I’m convinced you also need an Instant Pot. 🙂 )
From my own research and talking to others who have a Vitamix, I think any of them are great. They are all high-speed and high-quality blenders. I just happen to have the 750, so that’s the one I’ll be telling you all about.
Let’s get into some questions that I first had when deciding if I should spend money on a high-end blender. Maybe these are things you’re thinking about too.
So… Can’t I Just Use My Food Processor?
This is definitely something I thought about before getting my Vitamix 750. I have a food processor and I love it. For certain things. But it’s definitely not a blender.
For instance, my food processor does a great job of chopping up nuts and dates for energy balls I like to make for my son. It does not do a good job chopping up fruit and dates for a smoothie. Unless you like chunky smoothies, then who am I to judge?
The Vitamix breaks down ALL of the food into a smooth, refreshing drink. That’s why they’re called smoothies, and not chunkies.

Why Can’t I Just Use a Magic Bullet?
Yup, I have one of these too. It’s one of my most favorite kitchen tools. The Magic Bullet is amazing for making small batches of things like dressings or blending up a protein shake powder.
And again, if you like chunkies instead of smoothies, go for it. Otherwise, the Magic Bullet just does not have enough power to break food down properly.
I used to painstakingly steam up sweet potatoes and other veggies and blend them little by little in small batches to make my kids’ food when they were babies. Have you ever done this?
I am grateful to that little Magic Bullet for allowing me to make some of my own food, but man, if I had a Vitamix 750 back then, it would have been ON. I would have whipped up baby food like a pro.
I probably would have had a side business selling baby food that’s how awesome it would have been.
The Magic Bullet container is tiny compared to the Vitamix container. That means you can only fit in tiny amounts of food. Again, that’s great for some things, but definitely not for everything.
Fine, What Can a Vitamix 750 Do, Exactly?
The biggest thing is what I’ve already mentioned. It breaks food down all the way. ALL the way. Even food that you wouldn’t think of even consuming because it’s too hard.
Like, pineapple skin, for instance. Yup, you can eat that! And yes, a Vitamix will pulverize that skin, no problem!
The Vitamix is probably best known for making smoothies. And that’s probably my favorite way to use it.
You can add spinach, dates and ginger and the Vitamix blends this up quickly, easily and, most importantly, smoothly. Try blending up ginger in a regular blender. You’ll see. You’ll see…
You can make a delicious and healthy smoothie like this, no problem:
But, it’s not just great for smoothies. You can use the Vitamix 750 to make soups (it’ll even heat the soup as it’s blending!) sorbets and salsa. My favorite nacho cheese sauce uses cashews, and the Vitamix makes it smooth and creamy.
What’s Different Between the Vitamix 750 and Other Vitamixes?
There are all different kinds of Vitamixes out there. There are different price points, ones with different settings, smaller ones, larger ones. Here is the Vitamix store on Amazon so that you can explore the different options a bit more.
Again, I believe any Vitamix is going to work well. They all have the big lawn-mower sized engine that makes pulverizing easy peasy.
The Vitamix 750 has a few things about it that make it stand out:
- Short, wide 64 oz container (it’s BPA-free) to make fitting under your cabinets easier. (It still doesn’t totally fit under mine with the lid, so I store the lid elsewhere.)
- Automatic settings for cleaning (yup, just add a drop of dish soap to a half-full container of water, set it to cleaning, push the on button and off you go!), smoothies, frozen desserts, soup, and purees. Because of these auto features, you can add your ingredients, turn it on and walk away.
- It also still has the variable speed controls, which you can use with or without the automatic controls. For instance, if you’re in the middle of making soup, and you’ve used the automatic soup control, you can use the variable controls during your soup-making. Or, you can just use the variable controls. This gives you complete control over the consistency of your food.
Why Does It Cost So Much? Can’t I Just Get a Cheaper Blender?
Of course, you can do anything you want. I’m not twisting your arm. I’m just saying I had a cheaper blender. I gave it away.
First of all, cheaper blenders aren’t going to last. A Vitamix will last forever. In the meantime, they have a 7-year warranty.
Second of all, chunkies.
Do Yourself a Favor and Get a Vitamix 750
I know it’s expensive to get a Vitamix. I know it is. But it’s one of those things that it’s totally, totally worth it to splurge on instead of buying something cheaper. This is the highest quality blender you can buy.
As mentioned, it will last a long time. Maybe forever! (My Mom has one that her friend gave her that is something like 30 years old and it still works great.)
If you’re thinking to yourself “I could just buy a Ninja,” you’re thinking is a little off again. Yes, a Ninja is OK. If that’s really all you can afford, then it’s not bad. I have used a Ninja before. They work pretty well. But they do not even come close to the same pulverization as the Vitamix. And again, I don’t know how long a Ninja will last. I know a Vitamix is built to last.
I know it’s hard to justify spending such a large amount on a kitchen appliance, but once you do, you will realize that it’s worth it.
How much better could you feel eating whole, unprocessed plant foods that you whip up in your Vitamix?
You could eat:
- Hummus
- Salsa
- Smoothies
- Soups
- Chocolate banana nice cream
All using fresh ingredients. This is so much better for you than buying the store-bought versions. And it’s cheaper, too!
Just look at this incredible sweet potato hummus! When you make this in the Vitamix, it comes out super rich and creamy.
OK, ready to try it out? You won’t regret it! Ask other Vitamix owners and see what they say. I guarantee they don’t regret their purchase.
Here’s the Vitamix Pro Series 750 Blender on Amazon. This is actually a much better price than I paid in-store at William-Sonoma.
